Changez Speaks Out

Detroit Passport to the Arts Oscar Event

Changez Salon really turned up the glitz and glamour at the DIA on Thursday, February 16th.
We all dressed up "Old Hollywood Style" and hit the red carpet at the DIA. Helping Detroit Passport to the Arts put together a star struck evening of Oscar nominated short films at the Detroit Film Theatre. As the sponsor for the red carpet event we greeted all of the amazingly dressed patrons, and even had paparazzi snapping pictures all night. As a big supporter of the arts, Stephen Fleck, Jason Rice and the rest of the Changez team really enjoyed donating our time and some wonderful Old Hollywood inspired clutches for all of the women to take home after the movies. It's an event everyone should be looking forward to next year. I know we are.

Hair That Cares - Huge Success

THANK YOU!!

What a wonderful turn out this year from our amazing clients. The 10 boxes of food we collected during our"Hair That Cares"food drive may just be our biggest haul to date. We wanted to thank everyone who participated this year. A good bulk of the food was shipped over to Starr Presbyterian today for their warming shelter next month. Just like last year, Changez is planning on spending an evening in February cutting hair for everyone that is spending an evening with Starr. We will be back next month with pictures for you!

Holiday Cheer at Changez SAlon

Happy holidays from Changez Salon

We had another successful outing last Saturday celebrating a great year with our clients. Free paraffin hand dips, half-off manicures, food made by all of our stylists. Donna made her famous meatballs that we have come to look forward to every holiday season. Suzanne rocked out manicure after manicure for the entire day. We commend her for her commitment. The entire staff really pitched in to make this one of our best holiday parties to date. Make sure you make it in next year.

Santa Claus visits Changez Salon

Not only did Donna do the hair for Jesus in a movie recently shown at the Royal Oak Main Art Theater, but now she has upgraded to working with Santa for this holiday season. While preparing for this holiday season Santa has run behind on his grooming. Our very own Donna was chosen to step up and get him ready to pass out gifts for all of the kids this year. We are really hoping that Santa repays her by showing up to our holiday party on Saturday December 3rd. Come swing by and hopefully you can meet him.

Charity Event at Changez Salon - August 29th.

The staff at Changez Salon had a wonderful night on August 29 hosting a charity event to benefit theAmerican Diabetes Association. We invited out clients and friends for an evening of food, fun, and philanthropy. With a spread provided by the staff and owners, Changez also entertained their guests at the salon with complimentary chair massages by Mark Rebner. Trish Dewald also donated her time and 20% of her sales of the Stella & Dot jewelry line she had on display. Mark and Trish will be back on October 15 for our next in-salon charity event; Cabernet, Cupcakes, and Curls for Charity.

Royal Oak All Night Party!!

Changez stayed up late with the 2011 graduating Class of Royal Oak High School at their Senior All Night Party. Patrick (Stylist/ Salon Manager), Cindy (Stylist), Cara (Stylist) and Courtney (Stylist) attended the event at Joe Dumars Field House where they donated their time to treat the senior class to feather extensions and haircare education. Not only did all the students have a great time, it looks like our stylists did as well judging by the souveneirs they brought back. Students also got to participate in character drawings, airbrush tattoos, and fortune readings. Patrick had a character drawing which is displayed in the salon. They also have some photo booth pictures that captured the fun they were having. We look forward to participating again in the Royal Oak Senior All Night Party and other schools in the future. Thank you so much for having us.

We Are Always Learning...

Changez Salon is once again advancing the education of their staff. Stephen and Jason provided us with a wonderful class on Monday May 16. Providing the staff with one of the more sought after talents in Michigan, Jason and Stephen spared no expense in bringing in the Redken educator, Dallas. Dallas is a certified Redken Master Specialist, Redken Certified Colorist, and a Regional Performing Artist for Redken. Dallas travels through out the Midwest visiting salons and teaching classes for budding stylist and seasoned veterans alike.

Gilda's Club "Boots, Bands & BBQ"

Changez Salon had another great event on Thursday night. One of the many sponsors of Gilda's Club “Boots, Bands and BBQ”
Changez came out in force. Stephen Fleck (Owner), Jason Rice (Owner/Stylist), Patrick Keveney (Manager/Stylist), Courtney Louwers (Stylist), and Margaret Niehaus (Stylist) all volunteered their time to support this wonderful charity in our community. As a salon that sponsors a wig bank, Changez has worked closely with Gildas for many years now and pleased to offer our time to such a fantastic event. We look forward to many more evenings spent with so many wonderful people.

Changez Salon Anniversary

Changez Salon – A 21 century salon got it’s roots quietly enough as a mom and pop salon that opened it’s doors in 1966.  That year Lyndon B. Johnson was president and the Vietnamese War raged on.  The Doors released their debut album, The Beatles played their last concert in San Francisco and the Metropolitan Opera House opened it’s doors.  Ronald Reagan was elected Governor of California, Truman Capote threw his Black and White Ball in NYC, touted as “the Party of the Century” and Walt Disney dies while producing “The Jungle Book”.
